This album started as a documentary musical autobiographical journey of Coyote's Kung Fu life since 1980.
In May, 2010, as the album was being mixed-down by Record Producer, Richard Del Connor, the story line changed. With a few changes in the song order, Richard rewrote the story of this album to be about, King Solomon and the building of his Temple, 3,000 years ago.
Richard has been active as a Freemason since 2007. His studies, testing, ceremonies, and research, led him to be a Master Mason, February 2009. In June of 2009, Richard, p.k.a. Buddha Zhen, discovered that one of the Kung Fu Forms he taught was encoded with Masonic symbols and information, secretly hidden within the martial arts movements.
This has also helped Coyote unify his complex identity as all three of his personalities and characters share the same interests now. Richard Del Connor, the Freemason, develops "Masonic Kung Fu." Coyote becomes "The Kung Fu Cowboy," and Buddha Zhen releases an album of Kung Fu music.
"The main difference," expalins Coyote, "is in how I present or develop something in each identity. All three of my identities are always onboard, it's just a matter of whose piloting the ship--to determine how we're going to get where we're going."
The story of KUNG FU COWBOY PART 1, is about Hiram Abif, the head architect of King Solomon. Several 2nd Degree Masons, Fellowcrafts, plotted and killed Hiram, for the secrets he protected to his grave. This story is used a a starting point for American Master Masons as the begin their own Masonic journeys of enlightenment.
The love triangle between Hiram Abif and Jubilum was similar to events in Coyote's life, so his songs fit perfectly into this ancient legend of the Hebrew Temple.
